HI,

My name is Joni.

I specialise in puppetry, performing, theatre-making, mental health, working with biography and workshops. I also enjoy doing a bit of research on the side.

I am the Resident Puppeteer for CW+’s Arts For All Program and introduced shadow puppetry into the wards of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Making theatre and art is my way of understanding life and human stories, including my own.

I am always looking to find new and creative ways to start the conversation about mental health.

I also work as a Freelance Facilitator delivering course on mental health, wellbeing and resilience.

I collaborate and facilitate with an open mind 🧠 and an open heart❤️.

I love exploring hidden inner worlds and emotional landscapes.

I trained at Brunel University and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

I have lived with Generalised Anxiety Disorder since the age of 11 so most of my work focuses on mental health and finding ways of telling difficult stories. I'm all about honesty, awareness, curiosity and starting conversation.

All I want is to make lives easier, tell stories seldom told and maybe find something beautiful amongst it.

I have had the pleasure of working with Joni since 2018, when she joined my theatre company, Bobble Hat Theatre… Joni puppeteered Celeste with incredible skill. She has an extraordinary talent, not only for performance but for communicating with children in a warm, sensitive and non-patronising way. Brighton needs more of Joni’s work!”
