If You Sit Very Still

I’m really pleased to finally be able to share If You Still Very Still with you!

Originally created for The Art of Ubuntu, a puppetry and arts film curated by Charlie Ryder, and donated to the Forgiveness Project in 2019. This film is a collaboration between several artists, including myself and Marian Partington whose book, If You Sit Very Still, was used as a basis for this film. Marian’s book deeply explores her experiences of grief and forgiveness in the shadow of her sister Lucy’s disappearance in 1973. Twenty years later, Lucy’s body was discovered and she became widely known to the British public one of Fred and Rosemary Wests victims.

Filmed in 2016 and 2018 using puppetry and words from Marian's book.
