“It is very difficult to find words or an image to describe the pain and disorientation of one’s sister simply disappearing without a trace for twenty years”

A Charlie Ryder Production

In 1973, Lucy Partington went missing. After 21 years of unresolved grief and unsolved mystery for her family, it was discovered that she had been kidnapped and murdered by series-killer Fred and Rosemary West. Her sister, Marian Partington, endeavoured to find some meaning to the trauma her family suffered and Lucy’s death.

A collaboration between several artists and Marian Partington whose book, If You Sit Very Still, was used as a basis for this film. Exploring intolerably grief, forgiveness, dreams and finding meaning.

Filmed in 2016 and 2018 using puppetry and words from Marian's book.
