“Two women, one puppet, consider male suicide”
Devised by Elucidate Theatre (M.A Advance Theatre Practice)
According to the Mental Health Foundation, suicide remains the most common cause of death in men under the age of 35. Joni and Beccy know a lot of men under the age of 35. And they are worried.
In between them a desperate puppet stands on Waterloo Bridge waiting for compassion to find him. #WATERLOOBRIDGE is an empathetic piece exploring mental states and shifting hopefulness with puppetry, projection, poetic language and animation. Elucidate wants to shed light on the internal struggle many people face; but also the hope that we are always searching for. Hope is what keeps us alive.
Exploring the digital
A huge part of Waterloobridge was exploring the potential for animation, projection and digital performance within puppetry
